STUMP THE TEACHER!
The other type of standard unit used in science is a scale. Example is Earth Science where Moh’s hardness scale (not Larry or Curly’s) is used for hardness in rocks. Talc is 1, Gypsum is 5, Diamond is 10, etc….
Practice by making your own, and stumping the teacher!
Have your group pick a physical property.
Find 10 objects and lay them on a table 1-10 in order of that property. If you picked mass, the order might be from a paper clip to a book to a bowling ball. Write down the objects in order with the property on an index card.
The teacher will get 3 guesses to guess the property. If he fails, you have stumped the teacher and get xtra credit (write it on the index card). Then the rest of the class can try to do better!
